RISERS
DARBY ALLIN (MEN’S SINGLES)

Darby Allin is the clear winner of this week’s AEW action. With a decisive victory over CIMA on AEW: Dark and a win over Jimmy Havoc on last night’s Dynamite, Allin is riding a significant wave of momentum. The former professional skateboarder is 2-1-1 in singles competition in AEW and he is yet to take a losing fall.
Darby will compete against Chris Jericho in an AEW title match on next week’s Dynamite. While few are expecting Darby to come out of this match victorious, his recent performance proves that this will be more than a tune-up match for Jericho as he prepares to face #1 contender, Cody, at AEW’s Full Gear pay-per-view.
PRIVATE PARTY (MEN’S TAG)

Private Party’s upset of The Young Bucks in the first round of the AEW Tag Team Championship tournament will definitely have people talking. Coming into the tournament, Private Party had only defeated the winless Angelico and Jack Evans and they had lost in a three-way tag match at Fyter Fest with Isiah Kassidy being pinned by Best Friends’ Chuck Taylor.
Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen absolutely established themselves as a key tag team in AEW with their decisive victory over the top-ranked team in AEW. They will await the winner of Lucha Bros and The Jurassic Express in the second round of the Tag Team Championship Tournament.
JON MOXLEY (MEN’S SINGLES)

Moxley moves up seven spots from 12 to 5 in Men’s Singles ranks. By my count, Moxley is 2-0 in AEW singles competition with wins over Joey Janela and Shawn Spears. Moxley’s match with Joey Janela at Fyter Fest was not officially sanctioned by the AEW matchmakers, therefore it will not appear in his AEW official win/loss record. Moxley’s match with Joey Janela appeared on AEW television and was officiated by an AEW official in a striped shirt. I saw the match on AEW programming, so I’m inclined to include it as an indicator of wrestler performance.
SAMMY GUEVARA (MEN’S OVERALL)

Sammy Guevara’s partnership with Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle has already proven to be fruitful. Guevara’s associative victory in this week’s tag team main event pushes him up from 22 to 14 in the men’s overall ranks, but his standing is sure to be unsteady. The self-proclaimed “Best Ever” is yet to record a winning fall in AEW and he has no clear path to the top of any divisional ranks. It will be interesting to see how Guevara leverages his new relationships to get himself into a championship conversation.
FALLERS
PAC (MEN’S SINGLES)

Pac was one of the hottest competitors in AEW between All Out and the first episode of Dynamite. Pac remains 2-0 with submission victories over two ranked opponents, but he sat out this week, slowing his momentum significantly and allowing wrestlers like Darby Allin and Jon Moxley to leapfrog him into the top tier of our rankings. On commentary, Pac lobbied for a shot at the AEW World Championship by referencing his recent successes in other promotions. It will be interesting to see whether AEW matchmakers take this into consideration or if they continue to ask Pac to prove his ability in an AEW ring.
THE YOUNG BUCKS (MEN’S TAG TEAM)

The Young Bucks have been incredible and competitive since the advent of AEW. Their matches with The Lucha Brothers established that All Elite Wrestling is the place to find great tag team wrestling, but after starting 2-0, they’ve consecutively lost a championship match and a tournament match. Due to the nature of a ladder match, their loss at ALL OUT didn’t drop The Young Bucks out of the top position in the Tag Team Division, but two high-stakes losses in a row have dropped them into a clear second tier of Tag Teams in AEW.
