Main Event
G1 Climax 32 D Block Match
David Finlay [0] v. Juice Robinson [2]

A picture containing calendar Description automatically generated

We enter our main event with more questions than answers as former friends and tag team partners Juice Robinson, and David Finlay step into opposite sides of the ring. Juice Robinson convinced the world that he was done with wrestling in the spring. He partnered with David Finlay to take on TMDK in a Chicago Street Fight, and after the bell rang, he waved to the crowd like it was the last time we’d ever see him.

That was the last time we saw “The Flamboyant” Juice Robinson, but a few weeks later, a masked man showed up in Fukuoka to confront Hiroshi Tanahashi. The man confronting Tanahashi: “Rock Hard” Juice Robinson, newly aligned with Bullet Club and a new attitude to go with it. The best friends and successful tag team partners have seemingly imploded out from under David Finlay just before he enters his first G1 Climax tournament. Finlay and Juice step into the main event at Korakuen Hall with much more than 2 points on the line, as this match is just about as personal as it gets.

Match Eight
G1 Climax 32 A Block Match
Tom Lawlor [0] v. Lance Archer [0]

Text Description automatically generated

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor’s G1 Climax career will finally begin in tonight’s semi-main event. Lawlor has been practicing finishing holds and impact strikes that he can apply to wrestlers of any size, and that will likely come in handy tonight as he battles with one of the biggest wrestlers in this year’s tournament, Lance Archer.

Match Seven
G1 Climax 32 C Block Match
KENTA [0] v. EVIL [0]

A picture containing text Description automatically generated

KENTA and EVIL may be representing Bullet Club, but don’t expect any pre-match hierarchy shenanigans as we saw in El Phantasmo vs. Yujiro Takahashi. KENTA and EVIL occupy parallel lanes in Bullet Club that serve the greater good of the unit but require hard-fought (or well-strategized) victories. Both wrestlers will be serious about notching their first G1 victory of the year, but the question remains: what tactics they will deploy to achieve it.

  • EVIL has one first-time match in this year’s C Block with Aaron Henare.

  • EVIL’s G1 Climax tournament will be one of the last to begin as he doesn’t get his first G1 match under his belt until night six on July 26th against KENTA.

Match Six
G1 Climax 32 B Block Match
Great-O-Khan [0] v. Chase Owens [0]

A picture containing calendar Description automatically generated

Typically, Chase Owens would be seen as the underdog in this bout. Still, history says otherwise. Simply put, Chase Owens has had Great-O-Khan’s number throughout their careers, dating back to 2017 when Great-O-Khan was known as Tomoyuki Oka, and Owens defeated him twice during Oka’s Young Lion years. Most recently, Chase Owens stole a singles victory from Great-O-Khan in Washington D.C. O-Khan has endeared himself to fans in ways that Chase Owens would never, but it remains to be seen if O-Khan can leverage that fan support to bring G1 success.

  • Great-O-Khan finished his first G1 Climax tournament last year with a 4-5 record. He enters this year’s G1 trying to break the five-match losing streak that ended his 2021 tournament.
  • Great-O-Khan will have two first-time singles matches in this year’s tournament.
  • Great-O-Khan has never won a singles match against any of the Block competitors. He is 0-6 against his blockmates.
  • Great-O-Khan’s G1 Climax will be one of the last to start, as he is one of three wrestlers who begin their tournament on night six, July 26th.
  • O-Khan’s singles schedule is very balanced after his tournament finally begins. He has three days off between 4 of his five block matches.
